Dr. Stephen C. Myers
Dear Patients and Friends,
Thirty seven years ago, I fulfilled my childhood dream of becoming a dentist. My happiness in dentistry has been possible because of you, my wonderful family of patients and a phenomenal group of very talented and caring co-workers. Thank you all for your friendship, trust and the privilege of allowing me to be your dentist. For those of you that may not know, I recently had neck surgery that sadly resulted in my inability to perform dentistry at a level to which you are accustomed and deserve.
These sudden events created two unexpected dilemmas. The first, who can I trust to care for the special people I am privileged to call my family of patients? And second, which dentist will blend in with my incredible staff and continue to make this a happy and fun place to work? I have found that in every dilemma God has provided and this situation is no different. After prayerful consideration of my beloved patients and staff along with interviewing a number of replacements, it is my honor and privilege to introduce, Dr. Benjamin Grooters.
Thank you again for allowing me the privilege of being your dentist. I truly have been blessed and leave with the confidence of knowing you are in good hands.
Stephen C. Myers, DMD
Dr. Benjamin J. Grooters
Dr. Benjamin Grooters was born in Edina, Minnesota. He moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 1993 where he graduated from Lincoln High School and met his wife, Shannon, whom he would later marry in 2002. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.
He knew he wanted to pursue a career in health care and a childhood accident that lead to a broken front tooth is what ultimately got him interested in dentistry. He was accepted to Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans in 2003 and graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2007. While at LSUSD, he served in several class officer positions including, freshman class president and was in Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity. After graduation, he and his wife, Shannon, and their first-born son, Jack, moved from New Orleans back to Tallahassee to be closer to family. He practiced in Tallahassee for 9 years before pursuing a unique opportunity to work with a dental school classmate in Monroe, Louisiana.
Dr. Grooters learned so much about the field of dentistry, patient care and practice management since graduation that he decided he wanted to apply that experience to owning his own practice. His desire is to serve others with humility and to provide high-quality dental treatment while ensuring the utmost comfort and care of his patients. He felt that Dr. Myers' philosophy aligned well with his and looks forward to continuing in his legacy. In his free time, Dr. Grooters enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children, Jack, Paige and Barrett. He also enjoys exercising, volunteering for causes such as Dentistry From the Heart, We Care Network and North Florida Homeless Veterans Stand Down and enjoying all of the outdoor activities that North Florida has to offer.
