We love to get to know our patients and understand their concerns and wishes. Working together is key to preventive dentistry. The best and most cost effective way to maintain oral health is to have a comprehensive exam rather than treat individual symptoms. Dr. Myers will assess your complete oral health with a comprehensive exam and present to you a treatment plan with options for you to attain the highest level of dental health you desire.

We have three wonderful, highly trained hygienists at S.C. Myers, DMD, for your professional cleanings. Dr. Myers will diagnose the type of cleaning you need at your first appointment. Your services will be customized just for you with a hygiene program that includes monitoring your overall dental health. It is important that you sustain good daily home care, so we will instruct you on the proper way to care for your teeth and gums.

Some say the mouth is the body’s mirror. Research has linked periodontal diseases with a number of issues including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory disease, stroke and osteoarthritis. A healthier mouth can be the key to a healthier body.

Teeth whitening is generally the first step we recommend for enhancing smiles. With modern advances and basic methods, teeth whitening produces a fast and noticeable outcome.

Custom-made beaching trays, with professional quality bleaching solution have proven to be the most effective at-home technique for long-term whitening. By using this tray system, you can control how bright you want your smile. Teeth whitening is a popular option among patients because it provides quick, convenient and affordable results.

A crown is a covering that encases the entire tooth when it has been significantly damaged by decay, fractures, large fillings, or weakened by root canal treatment. Crowns not only protect and strengthen the tooth structure but also cosmetically enhance your smile.

Although the choice of materials used can vary, your crown will have the look and feel of your natural teeth and patients can expect excellent, long-term results.

A dental bridge is a fixed restoration and an excellent way to replace missing teeth. It fills empty spaces and creates greater strength for weakened teeth by joining them together.

Dental bridges are secured in place by attaching to a dental implant or natural tooth, preventing the remaining teeth from drifting out of position. It is a highly durable and exceptional way to restore your attractive smile.

Porcelain veneers are designed to replace severely discolored, misshapen, chipped or worn teeth. Veneers are a thin layer of porcelain bonded to the front of the tooth structure restoring your teeth and smile. Extremely natural in appearance, veneers are the ideal solution for giving you a beautiful long lasting smile.

Smiles suffering from damage or neglect can regain new life and oral health with full-mouth reconstruction. This comprehensive approach combines a series of procedures including general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Myers will listen to your dental concerns and esthetic goals and create a treatment plan specific to you for a stunning and healthy smile.

White fillings are tooth colored resin restorations which are a more cosmetic alternative to silver fillings. The decayed or fractured part of the tooth is removed and replaced with a resin restoration matched to the color of your existing tooth.

White fillings are also a great choice for closing spaces, replacing worn enamel, reshaping teeth and repairing chipped teeth.

If you are worried that dark, metal fillings will detract from your smile’s appearance, ask Dr. Myers about a white filling for aesthetics, function and great performance.

Occlusal night guards are custom-made dental appliances that protect the teeth from damage. They are designed so the teeth fit perfectly to limit the destructive forces of grinding and clenching throughout the night.

An occlusal night guard not only prevents major surface damage to your teeth but also relaxes the muscles of the jaw, releasing the tension that can cause patients to have spasms or frequent headaches.

Dental implants are a wonderful way to replace missing teeth by providing a foundation that looks, feels and functions like a natural tooth. They are small titanium posts placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds to the titanium and creates a strong foundation for restorations. We create a special, custom-made crown and attach it to the titanium implant, restoring your smile to its natural looking state.

Root canals are used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected. During this procedure, the nerve and blood supply inside the tooth are removed and the tooth is cleaned, filled with a plastic like material and sealed.

TMJ disorders are a group of complex problems of the jaw joint. Damage to jaw joint and its muscles can cause a variety of symptoms in the neck or head area. Some common symptoms include headaches, cold-sensitive teeth, pain in and around the ear, tenderness of the jaw and clicking and popping noises when opening the mouth.

Often caused by stress, trauma or other injury, TMJ therapy can include adjustments to the way your teeth fit together or splints of various designs thereby decreasing the stress to muscles, teeth, bone around the teeth and joints. TMJ therapy is most successful when treated in the early stages. Our office is thorough in its approach to determining the cause and solution for your discomfort.

Our goal is to preserve your natural teeth.

If a tooth has been broken, infected or damaged by decay, repairing it with a filling, crown or other treatment is the optimal choice.

Sometimes, there is too much damage for the tooth to be repaired and it needs to be extracted. After the extraction and healing time, there are many ways to replace the missing tooth. We are happy to explain options to you for replacing any missing teeth.

In some situations where natural teeth are beyond repair, a denture may be necessary. A denture gives you a smile, the ability to chew and supports the cheek and lips. There are two types of dentures, conventional and immediate. Conventional dentures are made when all the teeth have been extracted. This process allows us to make adjustments to the denture prior to its final fitting. Immediate dentures are fabricated prior to the removal of your natural teeth and inserted at the time your teeth are extracted. This allows the patient to maintain their smile during the healing process.

Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. Not only does a partial denture fill in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from changing position. We take great pride in the natural look of the dentures we fabricate for our patients.

At the office of S.C. Myers, DMD, we are concerned with all aspects of preventive care, not only for you but also your children.

We use the latest in dental sealant technology to help protect your child’s teeth. Dental sealants are a thin plastic bonded to the chewing surfaces of decay-prone teeth.

It protects areas most susceptible to decay by sealing deep groves in teeth difficult to brush. This is just one of the ways we can set the foundation for your child’s lifetime of good oral health.
